Musings

I guess the point of writing a few notes about my on going obsession with running up, down and around hills in and around Hong Kong is primarily to avoid boring those around me to death any more with talk of it. But then the fact that such a thing is possible at all is pretty incredible so it is hard not to go on about it now and again. There can't be many places where you can have it both ways like this. To live in the centre of one of the worlds most populated metropolises yet run on proper hills and on trails most days is pretty awesome. Sure, its not the alps and sure, the quest to avoid  the ever encroaching concrete (and steps) is a losing battle but it is still beats the monotony of pounding urban pavements any day.

Anyway, the plan is to try and note some of my musings on the subject here but we'll see how it goes. I'm not much of a writer usually and since I spend most of my time either thinking about design or drawing, written communication really doesn't come naturally. I've also got a bad reputation for never taking photos of anything, ever. So part of this project is to rectify that a little and try to share some of the stuff I notice while running through the incredible landscape of Hong Kong. But I'll need to find a suitable aparatus for doing that which doesn't weight me down too much first. As will no doubt become clear I'm not one for lugging stuff around with me while I run.

I guess we'll see how it goes.
